The Petersburg boys basketball team finally cleared the speed bump. The Wave defeated Patrick Henry-Roanoke 77-57 last night in the semifinals of the VHSL Group AAA boys basketball tournament at the Siegel Center and advanced to tomorrows championship game for the first time since 1989.

ROANOKE, Va. - The parents of a 2-year-old Virginia boy whose body was found in a landfill face murder charges. A grand jury indicted 24-year-old Brandon Lockett and 23-year-old Morgan Lockett on Monday. Each is charged with second-degree murder, child neglect and cruelty.
